This week, in cooperation with bNotions, we provided key functionality enhancements to the Dot Net Nuke / NB_Store platform in order to deploy the Peerless Mount Website.

Powerful quantum computers will break existing security hashes

According to NewScientist, a photon machine gun has been designed which could bring 20-30 qubit quantum computers into existance whithin a few years.

Quantum computers of this nature will render all existing secure hashes obsolete, creating an enormous market for research in the security arena.

sbak updates

It is recommended that all users of sbak update to revision 14. This new revision has been rewritten in C, and no longer exposes sensitive backup information in the process list. This version should work everywhere that the old version worked, as long as there is a GNU c compiler.

Freshbooks interest calculator

We’ve just built a system that allows users of Freshbooks to automatically apply interest to their client’s invoices, as well as apply NET XX XX rules, and charge monthly financing fees for carrying debt.

Backups now online

Backups have been restored and new backups are available dated today at 3pm and on. Customers can request restores from the date of their choosing for a nominal fee. In the event of a server failure, restores are completely free to our customers.

We continue to use sbak, our own open source backup software.

Telephone and backup updates

We have discovered that our office telephone system has not been routing calls as expected. We are aiming to have our telephone system and backups fully functional by the end of today.

As usual, our end-user-service is working flawlessly. Web service, and telephone services provided to our customers are 100% up and running.
